Your Medicare Questions Answered

  • When do I need to enroll in Medicare?

Your Medicare Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) begins three months before your 65th birthday and continues for three months after, giving you a total of seven months to enroll. Signing up during this window is key. If you miss it, you may face penalties or delays in getting coverage. Even if you're still working, reviewing your options early helps you make a confident decision.

  • What’s the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medigap?

Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare. Medigap works alongside Original Medicare to help cover costs like copays and deductibles.

  • Do I need Medicare if I’m still working?

It depends on the size and quality of your employer’s health plan. If you're covered by a large group plan, you may choose to delay some parts of Medicare without penalty. But in other cases, enrolling in Medicare may offer better or more affordable coverage. We’ll review your current benefits and help you decide whether it makes sense to enroll now or wait.

  • Can I get help choosing a plan?

Yes, and this is what we do best. Our local advisors understand the Medicare plans available in Hawaii and will guide you through your choices in clear and simple terms. We’ll help you compare plan benefits, premiums, and provider networks. You can expect thoughtful support at no cost, whether you're just getting started or looking for a second opinion.

  • What happens after I enroll in Medicare?

After you enroll, we’ll help you get familiar with your plan. You’ll receive a Medicare card and a breakdown of your benefits, and we’ll explain how to use your coverage, manage prescriptions, and handle renewals or updates each year. We don’t just help you enroll. We stick with you as your go-to local Medicare resource.
