SMS Consent & Opt-In Process

This page describes how Equity Insurance Services collects consent before sending text messages. We use a verbal opt-in process during inbound phone calls with our AI receptionist.

How Consent Is Collected


When an individual calls Equity Insurance Services at (808) 593-7746, they are connected with our automated AI receptionist. The AI receptionist gathers basic information about the caller's insurance needs and identifies the appropriate policy type (auto, home, renters, condo, commercial auto, or dwelling fire).


Before the call ends, the AI receptionist delivers the following verbal disclosure and asks for the caller's consent to receive a text message:

"After this call, we'll send you a one-time text message with a link to complete your insurance intake form. Message and data rates may apply. You'll receive one message. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or reply HELP for help. Can I confirm your phone number to send this to?"

The caller then verbally confirms their phone number and their agreement to receive the text. Only after this verbal confirmation does the system send a single text message containing a link to the appropriate intake form. If the caller declines, no text message is sent and their inquiry proceeds normally.


What Happens After Consent


Immediately following the call, the caller receives one transactional text message. A typical message looks like this:

Text messages are sent from our toll-free number on behalf of Equity Insurance Services. No additional messages are sent unless the caller initiates another call. We do not send promotional, marketing, or recurring messages via SMS.


How Consent Is Recorded


Verbal consent is captured via call transcript and logged with a timestamp for compliance purposes. Each consent event is recorded with the caller's phone number, the date and time of the call, and confirmation that the disclosure was delivered. These records are retained for a minimum of five years and are available upon request.
